Frequently Asked Questions

We don’t disclose the exact location of Audrey’s Legacy. It’s in Northern Ontario.

You can find out more about why we don’t give the location on the webpage: Visiting Audrey’s Legacy

Turtles brumate (hibernate) throughout the winter. We have installed windmills to aerate the water throughout the year. This, alongside with natural enclaves within the pond itself, allows the turtles to find a good place in the pond to brumate.

In the spring, the pond thaws and the turtles begin their process of warming up and coming back to the surface.

The ponds for the turtles are fully-stocked with fish and turtle-safe plants.

Audrey’s Legacy Turtle Sanctuary is a 20 acre property. We are building the ponds large enough that they would be able to house thousands of turtles in their finished state.

If your turtle is a good candidate for the sanctuary, we will schedule their move in date to the appropriate pond.

Right now, Audrey’s Legacy Turtle Sanctuary is has vacancy for female red-eared slider turtles.

Check out our page to determine if your turtle is eligible for candidacy at Audrey’s Legacy Turtle Sanctuary.

We need the owner’s permission to proceed with any surrender application for any reptile. Please have the owner contact us at their earliest convenience.
