We understand the importance of protecting the local ecosystem and biodiversity at Audrey’s Legacy Turtle Sanctuary.

By not accepting native species of turtles, we aim to prevent any potential disruption to the balance of the environment.

Our focus is on providing a safe haven for invasive turtles where they can thrive and be cared for properly. Your support in our mission is greatly appreciated.

Other Requirements

*We do not accept International turtles.

If you are not within range of Northern Ontario and wish to send your turtle to Audrey’s Legacy Turtle Sanctuary, you may do so if you arrange and pay for shipping through Reptile Express.

Acknowledgements

Every turtle that is surrendered to us is placed in the Little RESQ shelter while being individually assessed for health, swimming ability, temperament and social skills.

Once assessed, we determine their eligibility to move on to Audrey’s Legacy Turtle Sanctuary to live out their lives in massive 2+ acre controlled ponds. If they are not good candidates due to our assessment, they will be placed for adoption on our website where they will be rehomed.

We only make these decisions with the turtles’ best interest in mind.

Due to the nature of Audrey’s Legacy Turtle Sanctuary, we are unable to allow the owner of the turtle to release or follow-up with their surrendered turtle in any way. The property location is undisclosed to the public.
